Large white peacock that is a Haitian vodun symbol closely related to images used for the orisha Obatala in Cuban Santoria. Bird stands in flower garden of clumps of pink flowers. 28 3/4" x 40 3/4" Framed. Signed with last name at lower right. A devotee of Voodoo, Byron often incorporates religious symbols into his paintings. Frequently paints a greenish-blue background to emphasize lighter objects in the foreground.
